Hair

Question: At my church they won't believe in not cutting our hair. Do ya'll (women or young ladies) cut their hair?

Answer:
Thank you for submitting your question. In response:

This can truly be a difficult topic to discuss, since it lies within the major category of "holiness" which is a very broad category and can at times become overwhelming. However, I will try to put it briefly.

(1 Pet 1:15-16 KJV) But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

(Heb 12:14 KJV) Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

(2 Cor 6:17 KJV) Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

As you can see, it is a very important major category to consider. If I were to try and express "holiness" in a simple manner I would have to say that it is about separating ourselves for our Lord Jesus (our spiritual groom). There are two different paths that we can take: The world has their way of living, and the Lord's people have their own way of living. One way is not pleasing to the Lord, and the other is pleasing to Him.

Finally, in direct answer to your question: We believe that all Scripture is given by the inspiration of God (2 Timothy 3:16). The Biblical instruction on hair is given to us in the New Testament, in 1 Corinthians 11:1-16. At our church we believe that women and young ladies should not cut their hair because it is pleasing to our Lord and is a means of separating ourselves from the world's way of living.

I hope this has been helpful. If you have further questions please do not hesitate to continue sending them.

May the Lord bless you daily,
